Privacy policy
Short version: LiftOnly has no account and no server, and your workouts never leave your phone. The only network traffic is Google Play handling purchases of LiftOnly Pro. The workout lock only notices which app is opening; it cannot read what is on your screen.
Who we are
LiftOnly is published by Techomi Forge, EURL, France (the "controller" under the GDPR). Contact: info@techomi-forge.com.
What the app stores, and where
Everything below is stored only on your device, in LiftOnly's private app storage:
- Your training: workouts, weekly schedule, exercises, planned loads and reps.
- Your sessions: for each set, the weight, reps, the time you checked it and the rest before it; skipped days.
- Settings: bodyweight, rest target, muscle preferences, whether today is locked.
We (Techomi Forge) never receive this data. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs that collect data. It includes Google's Play Billing library, which lets the app talk to the Google Play Store app (and through it to Google) to show prices and process LiftOnly Pro purchases; none of your workout data is sent with it.
The workout lock (Accessibility service)
If you turn it on, LiftOnly uses Android's Accessibility service for one purpose: when another app comes to the front while today's workout isn't done, LiftOnly brings the workout back.
- It receives only "a new window opened" events, with the name of the app that opened.
- It is configured so it cannot read screen content: no text, messages, passwords or anything you type.
- The app name is checked on the spot and discarded. Nothing is logged, stored or sent.
- Phone, emergency calls and system Settings are never blocked. You can turn the service off at any time in Settings › Accessibility.
Other permissions
- Notifications: shows the rest clock during a rest.
- Vibration, keep awake, foreground service: lets the rest timer buzz and beep with the screen off. Used only between two sets of a workout you started.
Sharing a workout
"Share workout" draws a summary image on your phone (minutes locked, weight lifted, sets, exercises, records, streak). "On my photo" puts the same summary over a photo you pick in Android's photo picker: LiftOnly only sees that one photo, uses it on your phone to draw the image, and keeps no copy beyond a temporary file for sharing. The image only leaves your phone if you pick an app in Android's share menu, and then it goes to that app under that app's privacy policy. We don't receive it.
Backups by Android
Like most apps, LiftOnly allows Android's built-in backup. If backup is on in your phone's settings, Android may copy LiftOnly's data to your Google account so it can be restored on a new phone. This is done by Google under Google's privacy policy (encrypted on recent Android versions when your phone has a screen lock). We have no access to these backups. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.
Purchases
LiftOnly Pro (a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase) is sold and handled entirely by Google Play, under Google's privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details; Google Play tells the app whether you own Pro, and the app keeps that answer on your phone so Pro also works offline. We can see Google's anonymised sales reports and, if you contact us about a purchase, the order details Google provides to developers.
Legal basis, retention, deletion
Data is processed on your device to provide the features you use (performance of the service you requested). It is kept until you delete it: clearing LiftOnly's storage or uninstalling the app deletes everything on the device.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Since we hold no data about you, you can exercise them directly on your phone (the data is yours and on your device), or contact us at the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.
Children
LiftOnly is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes (for example if a future version sends any data off your phone), we will update this page and the date above before releasing that version.
